College Student Loans aren't for everyone

A good proportion of college students take out a college student loan in order to help them pay for their costly college education. Before joining the herds of people taking out a costly college student loan, you should consider if you really need the money and if you will be able to pay it back in a timely fashion when you are done with school.

My funds don't cover my expenses, is there an alternative to a college student loan?

Even if you don't think you have enough money to cover the expense of going to college, you may want to try another outlet to get money for school other than a college student loan. With a college student loan you have to pay for interest as well as all of the money that you borrowed initially. There are lots of different ways to get the money you need for college. You may want to consider searching for scholarships. There are tons of scholarships out there and some of them even go unclaimed for the year due to a lack of applicants. Besides scholarships, you may qualify for grants or work study programs that will help you make ends meet while going to college.

I plan on traveling after college and can't pay the money for a college student loan back right away, what should I do?

Well, you have two choices. The first is to go ahead and take the loan and get a deferment on the loan after you are done due to financial hardship. This will delay repayment of the college student loan for a certain period of time until you are financially able to repay the loan. The second choice is not to take out a student loan and find an alternative means of money and funding such as those mentioned above.
